Stackade Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Stackade, the online arcade at stackade.app, together with its games, accounts, profiles, leaderboards, and the in-game coins economy (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Soulstack ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or make a purchase. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Stackade games are arcade-style and attract younger players, so the age policy is a deliberate condition of use. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle children's data.

2. Accounts

- Guest play. You can start playing immediately without creating an account. Your progress is saved locally in your browser only; it is not synced to our servers, and coins, XP, and other account features are not available until you create an account. - Creating an account. When you create an account (email and password, magic link, or Google), any progress already saved locally in your browser carries over into your new account. - Your responsibilities. Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@stackade.app if you suspect unauthorised use. - One person, one account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be sold, shared, or transferred.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

- cheat, exploit, automate, script, or use unauthorised tools to gain coins, XP, achievements, scores, or leaderboard positions you did not earn through normal play; - tamper with, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service, its security (including App Check and our server-side validation), or other players' use of it; - submit falsified run results or otherwise attempt to manipulate the server-authoritative account, coins, or leaderboard systems; - use a handle, display name, avatar, or other content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexual, deceptive (for example impersonating another person or us), or otherwise objectionable; or - access the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.

We may remove content, reset records, or restrict accounts that breach this section.

4. Coins (virtual currency)

Stackade uses "coins", an in-game virtual currency.

- How you get coins. Coins are either earned through play (awarded by our servers at the end of a run) or purchased in coin packs. - No real-world value. Coins are a limited, revocable licence to use a feature of the Service. They are not money, not a balance with us, not redeemable for cash, and have no value outside the Service. - Non-transferable. Coins are tied to your account and may not be sold, gifted, traded, or transferred to another account or person. - Use. Coins may be spent within the Service, for example in the arcade store, per-game stores, or to unlock cabinets. We may add, change, reprice, or withdraw items you can spend coins on. - No refunds. Purchased coins are non-refundable, and earned coins are never refundable, except where a refund is required by law (see section 5). - Forfeiture. Unused coins may be forfeited if your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms, or on closure of the Service, subject to your statutory rights.

5. Purchases and payments

- Merchant of Record. Purchases of coin packs are sold and processed by Paddle.com as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller of record for your purchase: Paddle is your contractual counterparty for the transaction, issues the receipt, appears on your card statement, and handles tax. Paddle's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase. - Price and tax. Prices are shown at checkout. Paddle calculates and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT. - Refunds. Statutory refund and cancellation rights are unaffected by these Terms. Refund requests for purchases are handled through Paddle as the Merchant of Record. Once purchased coins have been spent, a refund may no longer be available except as required by law. - Chargebacks. If a purchase is refunded, charged back, or disputed, we may debit the corresponding coins from your balance and may restrict the account.

6. Profiles, handles, and leaderboards

- Public by default. If you reserve a handle and create a public profile, your profile and your leaderboard entries are public by default. Other players and visitors can see your handle, display name, avatar, account level, selected badges, top scores, and follower count. - Never public. Your email address and private account state are never shown publicly. - Opt-out. You can make your profile private at any time. Doing so hides your public profile and removes your public leaderboard entries. This is enforced on our servers, not just in the interface. - Handles. Handles are unique and reserved on a first-come basis. We may reclaim or change a handle that breaches section 3 or section 7.

7. User content and conduct

You are responsible for the handle, display name, avatar, and any other content you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display that content for the purpose of operating the Service (for example showing your handle on a public leaderboard). You must have the rights to any content you upload, and it must comply with section 3. We may remove content or records that breach these Terms.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Service or other players. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (including coins forfeiture, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

9. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including games, coins items, or features, at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes where we can.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that progress, coins, or scores will never be lost. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, coins, progress, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim and £100. This section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
